As per the Constitution, the general business of CTAM is conducted by the full membership through the annual general meeting and any specially-called meetings.

An elected Executive Committee oversees the daily business of CTAM.

DR. SADEESH SRINATHAN President
Dr. Srinathan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery. Currently he is the Research Director in the Section of Thoracic Surgery and he has completed a three year position as the Rudy Falk Clinician Scientist. He obtained his undergraduate and medical degrees at McMaster University, where he has also completed an MSc in Clinical Epidemiology. He trained in General Surgery at McGill University, Cardiothoracic Surgery in Birmingham, UK, and Fellowship in Thoracic Surgery at the University of Manitoba. He has also completed a research fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis. He practices as a GFT thoracic surgeon at the Health Sciences Centre. He is active in clinical research and teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students and is a course director in the undergraduate curriculum. He has also recently served as a member of the GFT Executive in the Department of Surgery.

DR. ERIC BOW Vice-President
Dr. Bow is a Professor in the Departments of Internal Medicine and Medical Microbiology. His training has been in clinical microbiology, infectious diseases and haematology/oncology. He has been serving as the Director of Infection Control Services, CancerCare Manitoba, the Medical Director of Clinical and Academic Services (CCMB), and the Medical Director of the WRHA Oncology Programme. He is the former Head, Department of Medical Oncology and Haematology (CCMB) and the Section of Haematology/Oncology, Department of Internal Medicine. He has authored alternate funding plans and models of cancer care in these capacities. Twice he has been elected to the Council of the International Immunocompromised Host Society. Dr. Bow’s research interests have focused upon the pathogenesis, prevention, and management of infections in cancer patient populations. He serves on the clinical practice guidelines panels for the management of febrile neutropenic patients for the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

DR. EDWARD LEUNG Treasurer NEW 2015
Dr. Leung is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health. He obtained his undergraduate and medical degrees at University of Toronto. He completed his pediatrics residency at the University of Saskatchewan and his pediatric neurology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. He was a Manitoba Institute of Child Health and Manitoba Health Research Council Clinical Post-doctoral Fellow in neurometabolic diseases. He became a GFT in 2011 as a pediatric neurologist at Health Sciences Centre. His clinical and research interests are primarily in neurometabolic, neurogenetic and neuromuscular disorders. He serves as a member of the Neurology, Pediatrics and Genetics Residency Program Committees.

DR. PAM ORR Secretary
Dr. Pamela Orr is a Professor of Medicine, Medical Microbiology and Community Health (GFT since 1990) and a consultant with the J.A. Hildes Medical Unit at the University of Manitoba. She is a clinician, teacher and researcher, with an interest in the health of indigenous peoples. Her current research focuses on the biologic and social determinants of infectious diseases in indigenous peoples. Dr. Orr is Chairperson of the PGME Committee of the Department of Medicine. Dr. Orr is President of the North American Region of the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease. She is a member of the University of Manitoba Centre for Human Rights Research, and an editor of the International Journal of Circumpolar Health.

DR. ALAN JACKSON Past President
Dr. Jackson is Professor and Head of the Section of Neurology and is based at Health Sciences Centre. He relocated from Queen’s University in 2007. He has served on the executive committees of the Queen’s University Faculty Association and the Clinical Teachers’ Association of Queen’s University. He has been the Chair of the Clinical Faculty Committee of the Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT) since 2005, and he previously served on the CAUT Task Force on Academic Freedom for Faculty at University-Affiliated Health Care Institutions. Dr. Jackson has been active in teaching and research; he has been the editor of five books and has published over 300 papers, book chapters, and abstracts. He serves on the Board of Directors of Rabies in the Americas, Inc., and has served on the Board of Directors of the International Society for Neurovirology since 2000. He was re-elected in 2013 for a second 2-year term as President of CTAM.

DR. LARRY TAN Member at Large
Dr. Tan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery. He is the Section Head and WRHA Regional Lead for Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Tan trained in General Surgery at Dalhousie University and in Thoracic Surgery at University of Manitoba. He joined the University of Manitoba as a GFT member in 1996, and practices at Health Sciences Centre as a general thoracic surgeon. His major interest is surgery education. He was the Program Director for Thoracic Surgery from 1999 to 2013 and the Director for Surgery Undergraduate Education from 2005 to 2012. He is the Director for Surgery Postgraduate Education, which coordinates the various surgery residency programs at University of Manitoba.

DR. PAMELA L. HOLENS Member at Large NEW 2015
Dr. Holens is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Health Psychology within the College of Medicine at the University of Manitoba. She has been a GFT since 2010. Her work is based at the Operational Stress Injury Clinic at Deer Lodge Centre where she provides assessment and treatment for current and veteran members of the RCMP and Canadian Armed Forces. She completed her graduate training (Master’s and PhD degrees in Clinical Psychology) at the University of Manitoba, and her pre-doctoral residency with the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region. Her clinical and research interests include Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, chronic pain, dialectical behavior therapy for military and RCMP populations, online treatments, and the impact of disability on leisure activities. She provides direct clinical supervision to Clinical Health Psychology residents as well as occasional lectures and tutorials for medical students on mental-health related issues. She serves as a member of the Department of Clinical Health Psychology research committee and as secretary on the board of the Manitoba Psychological Society.

DR. DONALD HOUSTON Member at Large NEW 2015
Dr. Houston is a hematologist, researcher and educator based at CancerCare Manitoba, the Health Sciences Centre, and the University of Manitoba. His clinical interests cover the gamut of general Hematology, including anemias, hemoglobinopathies, bleeding disorders, thrombosis, myelodysplasias, and myeloproliferative disorders. His research has been largely in the area of thrombosis. He is the director of the adult Hemophilia Clinic and Hemoglobinopathy Clinic, medical director of the CancerCare Manitoba Anticoagulation Service, and chair of the General Hematology Disease Site Group at CCMB. At the University of Manitoba Faculty of Medicine, he is the Course Director of the Blood and Immunology Course (1st and 2nd year medical school). He also directs the Internal Medicine Residents Research Day. Nationally, he is a board member of the Association of Hemophilia Clinic Directors of Canada.
